lyrics

Walking sticks & broken hips
Key ‘D’

I wake up every morning, try and get out of bed
My bones are aching, there’s a crink in my neck
I know I’m not as young as I used to be
But Country music is alright with me

We’ve worked hard now its time to play
Spending our money to our kids dismay
For all us baby boomers approaching middle age
We still like to rock and dance the night away

Now its walking sticks & broken hips, gophers and rattle’y teeth
We stopped dancing hours ago, but forgot to tell our feet
We’ll stay up till the songs run out, or until we fall in a heap
Just cover me with a blanket, if I should fall asleep

Young people today think they’ve got it made
Their fancy toys and their clothes all frayed
Touch phones, iPads, tablets ’oh boy’
And anything thing else that makes a noise

But we are in the prime of our life,
Sometimes we do get in to strife
But we’ll kick back, push it aside
As life goes on, we’ll take it in our stride
