I flue over this land of ours, a few days ago
I couldn’t help but notice, all the white & brown below

I thought back to a time, when people first set out
To explore and to settle, this land that’s prone to drought

No roads or maps to guide them - they set off anyway
No knowledge of what lay ahead and danger on the way

Some went by horse, some by cart, others, they just walked
Hoping for a better life, than the one they had left behind

They did not just fly around
They saw the beauty that abounds
They taught their children to appreciate
This great land and all its space
They all lived …..from day to day
And they’d say to a stranger hey G’day

Many perished along the way, some went back, others stayed
Some went looking and gold was found, Farms sprang all around

They went to war and back again; they stood up ….and made a stand
They gave each other a helping hand - and worked to build this land

We’ve come so far down the track, IS IT TIME…. to pull back
The years have passed and I wonder…have we lost our way?

It’s time to stop and look around, maybe time ……to slow down
Stop the plunder of our land, …was this part of the master plan?
